APEAL student award

The APEAL student award has been in existence since around 2013.

It has generally been awarded to students for their extracurricular activities, as academic results are rewarded by the school. The amount of the award has always been relatively modest, around €50 per student.

The winners in recent years have been the student council, the drama club, a very deserving student who arrived from Ukraine, the first aid group, and some students from the humanitarian action NGO.

At the APEAL meeting at the end of the 2023-2024 school year, it was agreed that this year the prize would be awarded to one or more pupils from the optional IT course run by Sorin on Friday afternoons. The history of the creation of this optional course is recalled: Sorin, a member of APEAL, indicated that he could teach this subject, which was not part of the academic programme. APEAL facilitated the proposal. The course has therefore been taught for three school years by Sorin, who receives remuneration from the Ministry of Education for doing so.
